What are the major risks of skydiving and how often do they occur?

My fiance and I are talking about going skydiving tandem in two weeks. I am a little worried about the safety. Does anyone have any details? Also, what should I wear?

1. My brother went skydiving...I'm being serious about this but he says he wishes he would have gone to the bathroom before making the dive...... If you want to know what to wear, call the place who is taking you on the dive. The major risks would be your parachute not opening and having temporary stiffness or slight pain in your back, neck, legs, or arms.....
2. Major risk= death I don't know how often it happens (probably not that much), but I know someone who was going to try it, but right before they did they saw someone splat on the ground.
3. the major risk is that the parashute may malfunction, but it is very rare since there is a backup, so dont worry and enjoy it, but there is a chance of dieing.
4. I'm no expert but I would have to say the major risk would be your chute not opening and it most likely only happens once.
